WHUT?! The WWE is NOT in the wrestling business

Despite a claim from WWE publicist, Kellie Baldyga, that "We [WWE] are no longer a wrestling company but rather a global entertainment company with a movie studio", blah, Blah, and BLAH! a follow-up email does little to change her original view to "we [WWE] are a global media company" instead. Apparently this comes right from the top, Vince McMahon. Cue that spooky music from the "dramatic chipmunk" video.

The fact remains that the WWE's primary business is in professional wrestling. Without its core business it could not survive in all its other ventures. Movies? Pffttt, yeah right! Three magazines? I bet they all feature pro-wrestling!!! I'll stop at this example before I die from laughing. No literally!

Anyway, this only goes to prove two things:
  1. Marketing people will always make something sound better than it actually is - its their business
  2. Marketing people can be complete and utter tools - it's true!
Dear Vince, just admit you own the world's biggest wrestling company first and foremost. That's a massive achievement in itself! Well done. Now, rename the parent company to remove any negative association that comes with, dare I say, professional wrestling. Do the same with all your other businesses like the movie studio, publishing, clothing, everything except those directly related to wrestling. Keep the WWE brand for these. Now that you've (likely not) read this article completely disregard it, as you normally do, and continue your day as usual!

So now that you've endured one of the craziest rants in history what do you think about all the relabelling the WWE are doing? Post your thoughts below :)

Regards, Cliff.
