Post Your Thoughts on the Survivor Series

With the big PPV over please post your thoughts on this year's Survivor Series

Here are the results..
Five-on-five Survivor Series Elimination Match
Team Michaels (Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, Cryme Tyme (JTG and Shad), and The Great Khali) vs. Team JBL (John "Bradshaw" Layfield, Kane, Montel Vontavious Porter, John Morrison and The Miz)

A very nice opener match which had the crowd going nuts by the end with the biggest pops going to HBK and Mysterio. An exceptional end with a countout on JBL and then the pin on Morrison who tried to pull out HBK's own move "sweet chin music" only to have it done on him
Survivors: Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, The Great Khali

Five-on-Five Divas Survivor Series Elimination Match
Team Raw (Beth Phoenix, Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Candice Michelle, and Jillian Hall) vs. Team SmackDown (Michelle McCool, Victoria, Maria, Maryse, and Natalya)

Horrible, horrible match! The only somewhat interesting thing about it is the so-called "shoot" fight between McCool and Maryse.. but that got really Boring fast! And that's simply because Maryse is really, really bad (and not in a good way too)! The sad thing is you can tell a few of the Divas thought they were using technical moves but what they did didn't flow right like a perfectly timed choreographed dance (it was the opposite of what Shelton Benjamin does in his sleep). Meh. Why the WWE bothers with "Divas" instead of Female Wrestlers who are also Hot is beyond me. hmm
Survivor: Beth Phoenix (sweet)

Casket match
The Undertaker vs. The Big Show

This match started off great. I loved it when Undertaker jumped onto the Big Show while he was lying on a table and it snapped in half. That was awesome! But the match slowed down alot after that point. It got better at the end where Big Show was thrown into an up right Coffin but other than that this match was a little disapointing
Winner: The Undertaker (and I really hope this feud's over now)

Five-on-Five Survivor Series Elimination Match
Team Batista (Batista, CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Matt Hardy and R-Truth) vs. Team Orton (Randy Orton, Shelton Benjamin, William Regal, Cody Rhodes and Mark Henry)

The Best Match of the Night bar none! This was a very solid match from start to end. Even when the big guys got in the ring it didn't slow down much at all. Punk had a quick win against Reagal which I thought was hilarious, Shelton was perfect in his matchups against R Truth and Kofi, and the end had a predictable feel to it with Batista outnumbered but the way they finished this match was even better
Survivors: Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes

Triple Threat match for the WWE Championship
Triple H (c) vs Vladimir Kozlov vs. Jeff Hardy

Rumours were rampant that Jeff was taken out of this match because he was found unconscious in his room and in fact it was announced that he would not be involved. Matt later explained what had happened to his brother Jeff. Was it Drugs? The answer was no. He'd been attacked. hmm. This smelled instantly of a "work"

During the match between Triple P and Kozlov it didn't surprise me at all that the first and only "Boring" chants for a match got going. Not even the Diva's match got this kind of response and I'll have to admit it was up until the very last minute when Vickie came out to announce a third compeditor that the crowd and I could recover from being bored out of our brains. No, it wasn't Jeff but someone we didn't expect to see who was the 3rd man. It was, in fact, a really skinny guy who looked alot like Mike Knox. You might have heard of him.. Edge or something :p I guess Edge found a way back from Hell when the Undertaker sent him there in their last match. Go figure!

Anyway, the Ultimate Opportunist pinned an already useless Triple P who could only lose after being attacked by 3 other guys. hmm. Oh yeah, Jeff came out and attacked Edge so I guess that explains the earlier attack on him. "Work", indeed and I knew it all along!!! muahaha
Winner: Edge (huh? Where'd he come from.. oh yeah, that's right! Hell, of course.. duh)

Singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Chris Jericho (c) vs. John Cena

Y2J and Cena pulled out all the stops in this very good match-up of Mind vs Strength
Cena toyed with his "ring rust" for the majority of the match but magically overcame his "fears" and prevailed with a final FU for the win. Very nice!
Winner: John Cena

Highlights
Two title changes! That was really unexpected and awesome at the same time, definitely Team Orton vs Team Batista, and Team Michaels vs Team JBL

So are you happy with the winners? What matches did you like? What matches didn't you like? What stood out the most as the best match to you and who was best wrestler?

Change is Not Always a Good Thing, Oh Yeah! And... BTB News

Hi everyone,

I know I promised someone that I'd film a post-political review in the wake of Obama being elected the 45th President of the USA, but that vid has since been shelved since New Zealand voted in a center-right government (The National Party) with our fricken version of George W Bush (John Key) into power

I hope this post will suffice for the vid that didn't happen and before I begin be warned.. lots of personal political views from here on so skip to the bottom if you just want to know about BTB :)

Continuuing on, I received a double whammy when one of the Parties I gave my vote to (we have MMP here) crossed over to the political dark-side and are now buddy-buddy chum-chumy with the National Party

I tell ya, that's the last time I vote "Maori" Party. To me, they have effectively become the flea on a dog of a poor-man's cousin who happens to know Darth Vader (note earlier "dark-side" reference, so yeah, they really suck but not in a cool Darth Vader kinda way but in a really really crappy way. Okay, totally OT at the moment.. moving on!). And, since when are the Maori people a right-wing anything?! errr!

What gripes my a@$ the most about the situation in New Zealand is poor Helen Clark, of The Labour Party and former Prime Minister, put years of her life looking after our country. She literally got screwed in the a$$ by thousands and thousands of Kiwis in one night when they voted for The National Party. Not because they hated her or her party, oh no! In fact, most Kiwis will agree that she did a marvelous job as did her party in the top role. Huh?

So why did NZ turn their backs on Helen Clark and The Labour Party? Well, Selected Kiwis who were put on the obviously PRO right-wing TV1 morning show would say "the crime rate is really high", and "we need a change", blah blah blah. To me that is complete B#ll$h&t!!!

Here's a really horrible example of a governmental change that didn't go well - Germany. They voted in the Nazis, need I say more. Anyway, the whole world disagreed with that decision. Now, I'm clearly not comparing the National Party to Nazis so I'll let you decide for yourself what to compare them to in a few years time, "The Bee's Knees" or a "Big Pile of Poop"? I guess we'll see

Sadly, my own sister told me (before the elections) that she'd be totally screwed with the National Party in power but she was voting for them anyway because, and.. I quote "The Labour Party was selling too much land". Huh? There's no reason in that statement at all! Firstly, the selling of land has nothing to do with her personally and secondly because she is completely wrong :s

I think I've vented all I can athough I could keep going on and thank you for listening to (or technically reading) my thoughts

Finally, onto other matters..
They'll be a slight delay in this week's schedule but a new BTB episode will be up in the next few days (not today or tomorrow) like it has been in the last few weeks

Cheers!

Regards, Cliff

PS: On the US Elections, I think it's awesome that Barack got in. I don't like how The Republicans are down playing his achievement though by saying something along the lines of "It's their moment. The first Black President...", etc etc. Actually, he won because he's just better and smarter than both McCain and Palin put together, although to be honest that's not hard. And let's not put the "race card" into this. He's just better, it's as plain and simple as that

BTB Season 2 Final Shoot Thoughts

Hi everyone,

I just thought I'd give you an update on how filming went on Saturday for the final 3 episodes of BTB Season 2 (and the regular series)

Well, let's just say it was both a blast and a somewhat emotional event for all 3 hosts (Lenaire, Michael, and myself). This journey began almost a year to the day as I asked them if they'd like to be "interviewed" for a video. This would showcase their thoughts on wrestling and be uploaded to YouTube. Little did we know that some people would actually watch us and become fans of the show. Thank you!

The first episode we filmed was the TNA SPECIAL. This went off pretty well despite our limited knowledge of the promotion. Michael was entertaining as always while Lenaire helped to ground the show, and I would ask the hard questions and keep us on topic (which, as you know, I do terribly, lolz, but that's a part of the fun I guess)

The second episode we filmed was the ROYAL ROULETTE. This episode really tested our ability to make concise points and voice our opinions. As the timekeeper I had to play double duty but tried to throw in my views where possible

The final and third episode we filmed was the 2008 BTB AWARDS SHOW. I personally selected the categories and nominees while the winner for each was carefully and seriously decided between all 3 hosts (yes, even Michael can do it!), and alas we can finally say that we actually put some pre-thought into an episode! lolz

As already mentioned, all three episodes were a blast to film and somewhat emotional to finish on. I look forward to uploading them for you however I still have many, many more episodes to post before you can watch these so stay tuned because BTB is still far from over for you - the fans!

Regards, Cliff

Below The Belt Ending Soon?

Hi everyone,

I received a message yesterday from my fellow co-host Michael that he'll be leaving on the 4th of November (in just a few days time) for his native Malaysia. He won't be back until, possibly, March next year so that WILL effectively end the regular series of Below The Belt - your favorite YouTube wrestling commentary show for the fans and by the fans!

Although this could be seen as some sad news for some, given the friendships we've made, and "great" news for others, who can't stand us (lolz). I'd like to remind you that we still have a few episodes from our last shoot to upload. This is on top of the final few episodes we'll be filming this weekend. Given my uploading rate, as of late, this content may even last until next March. haha. I guess we'll see

We'll also be recording BTB specials whenever Michael's in town so there WILL be future installments, just not in a regular weekly-ish format you're used to. I personally think this will make those BTB specials even more special. hehe ;)

There's also the possibility that the show could continue for another season but right now we're ending Season 2 open-ended so there won't be a goodbye episode

For a quick heads up on what's ahead..
The final three episodes I have in mind for BTB are:
- A TNA SPECIAL. This is where we try to answer subscriber-submitted questions on TNA
- THE ROYAL ROULETTE. A new concept show where we combine the formats of "The Question Roulette" with "Beat The Clock"
- THE BTB AWARDS SHOW. This where we present awards for the Best and the Worst of Wrestling Entertainment

We'll be filming the final few episodes of this season and series this Saturday (the 1st of November) so please submit any questions you would like us to answer for the ROYAL ROULETTE and TNA SPECIAL to my channel comments! Only one question per user to make it fair :)

And finally, if BTB is ending why should you stay subscribed?
A horrible question I know but it probably crossed your mind especially if you subbed because of the show!

Well, I've still got plenty of BTB episodes to upload, they'll be BTB specials whenever Michael's in town. I'll also be uploading short films (I have 2 or 3 short films in the works), and of course there's OTC, music videos, and my video blogs. Lenaire may even join me for an OFF THE CUFF episode if something big happens in the Wrestling World. I think that about sums everything up and I hope you stay subscribed

Thanks everyone :)

Regards, Cliff

PS: I just wanted to give a quick shoutout to some fellow kiwi YouTubers who I met recently at the NZYT Gathering and who have just subbed to my account (wow) - Levi, Jess, and Dillan. Cheers guys!

YouTube Gathering - Auckland (18th Oct, 2008)

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to say Lenaire and I had an awesome time at the YOUTUBE GATHERING at The Britomart Center in AUCKLAND today (Sat 18 Oct, 2008). We met so many awesome kiwis and friends from afar

It was funny meeting people in the flesh and yet they seemed like very nice people and not stuck up at all. My only gripes were: there seemed like there was no plan and I was getting major munchies after 2 hrs. Remember to have your breakfast next time! haha but otherwise it was awesome

YouTubers I remember meeting (even though briefly) include: HeartlessArchAngel69, lukejtharriesblog, smackbabies, curiouscat616, tiktoxic, corporalcadet, nanisnap, junoluvsu. There were a few more but I haven't found their details yet

I'll be posting a video on the occasion as soon as possible. Stay tuned
Cheers :)

Hi everyone,

After several requests for us to do a BTB episode on TNA I've decided.. what the hell.. we're going to do it, just for the challenge! So this is where we need your help!

Since we've never seen an entire episode of Impact until now please submit any TNA related questions or ideas you have for us so we can do some research

The best question will be chosen for this special episode. To be frank (even though I'm Cliff) we probably couldn't do that many as it is so we're sticking with just one. Also, if you think this is a terrible idea, that we should scrap it and keep doing what we do best let me know also. Post a comment here or on my channel

Finally, we won't be able to film and upload anything new for a while because Michael's in Malaysia for a few weeks however we did film a whole bunch of episodes before he left so stay tuned!

Cheers everyone :)

Regards, Cliff

FYI: Unlike our usual episodes I'm posting this one as it was recorded with no intro, outro, music, or cuts. It'll be posted as is. Try to guess where I'd insert the intros and outros, where I'd cut parts out for bloopers, etc. This is an exercise for the creative ones out there. Also, it's a pretty good watch as is. Enjoy!

OTC: Jericho an Interim Champ?

UNCUT Version

YouTube Version

Off The Cuff - Episode 12..
In this episode we discuss our thoughts on Colin Delaney's release, Chris Jericho and Matt Hardy's title wins at Unforgiven, whether Y2J's going to be another interim champion for the likes of Randy Orton, how Rey Mysterio keeps his youthful appearance, and finally our suspension from YouTube

PS: On a sidenote I've decided to stop using Blogger's online video upload tool thingee since it fails way too much for my liking. I'll be using Google Video from now since they have a downloadable desktop who-jackie which actually worked on the first go. Compare this with the 5 attempts I had using Blogger - talk about wasting bandwidth! Errr. Cheers :)

How I got my YouTube Account back (after it was Suspended!)

On the 16th of August, 2008 YouTube suspended my account, lostinz, after three copyright infringement claims by World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc (WWE). On the 3rd of September, 2008 eighteen days later it was reactivated. If you are in a similar situation this post may help you get your account, videos, subscriptions, and subscribers back so lets get started!

But firstly, lets start off with some very important information. The reason I believe my counter-DMCA notification worked is because my videos did not contain any copyright infringing media (video, pictures, or audio) owned by the WWE. They were wrestling commentaries which I feel fall under fair use. If you don't know what counts as fair use it will really pay to read up on it now. My research began with Renetto's (or Paul Robinett on YouTube and his) DMCA videos. Anyway, if your videos contain any material (even from live shows like some of my others videos do) this probably won't work for you. Also, check out YouTube's Terms of Use and Copyright Tips pages. Links below but read on first ;)

Okay, with that over with let's go through what happened to me. Many months ago I received an email from YouTube with the following subject line "Video Removed: Copyright Infringement". Two of these later and my account was suspended (3 in total)

On a side note it is common knowledge amongst wrestling "shooters" (or bloggers) on YouTube that the WWE are one of a few companies that take copyright infringement very seriously so it might pay to post material by less protective companies but in my case wrestling is one of my passions so I hope they will get used to our style of commentary. Anywho, this was something I was aware of and joked occasionally on my show about but never took too seriously until it happened to me, and well.. you know what happened - our account got suspended. That could have meant that I had to start from scratch but frankly I wasn't prepared to give up on my subscribers so easily!

Back on topic, the copyright infringement emails I received from YouTube all contained the following bit of information, "If you elect to send us a counter notice, please go to our Help Centre to access the instructions". I'm sure after reading the Help Centre page most people would probably stop there and go create another account but I say, "DON'T GIVE UP! IT'S EASIER THAN YOU THINK". I mean sure.. it takes a bit of work and you have to put your personal information on the counter-notification, BUT.. which is easier: writing a letter or reposting all your videos and trying to get all your subscribers back again? If you picked the second option you're a dooche bag :p

So, assuming you believe your videos do not infringe on anyone's copyrighted material and that the copyright owners may have made a mistake in their claim against you (this is important) go ahead and write up a formal counter-DMCA notification. You can call on a lawyer if you want, base yours on mine (click on the image below for how I did mine) or you can use one of the many others online. Whatever you do remember to adjust the counter-DMCA notification to your own situation!

So after you've had a formal letter written up and asked someone with excellent English skills proof-read it for you (WARNING: txt, sms, or anything remotely shorthand will completely kill your case) only then do you email it to YouTube's copyright centre. Remember! If you can't write English very well have someone who CAN do it for you. Also.. I'll note again you don't need a lawyer to do this for you although one may help if the claimant decides to take this further (like to court.. eek)

In my email to YouTube I explained my situation: that I felt my videos had been removed as the result of a mistake on their part (which you have to do when filing a counter-DMCA notification for some reason even though I'm sure there must be alot of DMCA "mistakes" on YouTube). Click on the image below for more info on what I said in my email to YouTube for my counter-DMCA notification. Note: the slightly less-formal language I use in my email and how I reiterate some of what I say in the attached letter (from above)

With my email and attached counter-DMCA notification sent to YouTube the rest was up to the WWE. Basically, they could respond to YouTube or to me personally within the next 10 days (I assume they mean working/business days since it took much longer than that) to counter-counter my counter-DMCA claim (lolz). Now, these 10 days weren't so pleasant because if you're contacted by the claimant that usually means they're going to take you to court and life will become very, very unpleasant and expensive for everyone. Luckily for me that didn't happen but then I was pretty sure they would let it go since my material was and is a pretty solid case for fair use

Anyway, after 10 days which became 17 days I had not been contacted by YouTube so I decided to send them a reminder email (below). I figured enough time had passed so I could be a little pro-active. Also, I was really missing YouTube at this stage!

"Hi there,

It's now been over 10 business working days since videos were removed from YouTube and subsequently my account (lostinz) suspended.

I was wondering if you have heard from the original claimant yet, and if not whether my YouTube account (and videos) would be restored.

Thank you.

Regards, Cliff"

The email above got my account restored within the day and the final one below got the copyright claims on the two videos removed. I figured there were two reasons I went through all this and only one of them had been done. Best to see this through I thought!

"Hi again and thank you,

The account has been restored although the two videos which had the copyright claim on them (and subsequent counter claim) are still blocked. Will you be unblocking them soon?

The Videos and URLs (as listed in the counter notification) are..

BTB: MITB at WM24, Kofi, and Kane (1 of 2):

BTB: BL Predictions (2 of 2):
http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=44yE-ujz9U0

Thank you

Regards, Cliff"

So this is pretty much the whole story from start to finish of how I got my account reactivated after being suspended. If this has happened to you I really hope this post helps you in some way. For more information I've added Renetto's DMCA video and some useful links below

Hi all,

I've got some great news for you! YouTube has finally responded after 10 days with the following, "We've completed processing your counter notification dated 8/17/08 regarding your videos. This content has been restored and your account will not be penalised"

We're back baby! Stay tuned :)

PS: As a bonus for the fans who visit this blog (especially during our "forced hiatus") I'll be posting some exclusive material here first before posting to YouTube. Thank you so much for your support ;)

OTC: Get Smart Movie Review

The following video clip is a movie review Michael and I did some time ago for the film "Get Smart"

I wouldn't blame you if you haven't seen it but did you know it features WWE superstars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and "The Great Khali" aka Somting OrUdda?

Actually, that's not his real name but I'm too lazy to Wikipedia or Google for it :s

FYI: I'll be posting the next episode of BTB on this blog within the next few days, and.. still no word from WWE (or YouTube. hmm)

Regards, Cliff

No Response, 3-7 Days to go!

Just a quick update..
So far there has been no response from the claimant (WWE) on the videos I posted they claimed infringed on their copyright, which.. I'll add is complete BS

I'm guessing we've got 3-7 days to go before my YouTube account and videos are (or should I say maybe) restored. It's 3 days if they include weekends, or 7 if they don't, as a part of the 10 day notification process. During this period the claimant has the "opportunity" to take me to court for copyright infringement but I doubt that very much. If they did they'd lose in one way or another (bad press, etc)

In any case I was planning on posting some vids up on here but I might just wait to see what happens in a few days first

WWE Notified, 10 Days and Counting!

I got a response from YouTube today with the following, "Thank you for your counter notification. It has been forwarded to the party that sent the takedown notification. If we receive no response from the original claimant, the material may be restored."

That's it, it's all or nothing now. The rest is up to WWE

Regards, Cliff

PS: Summerslam this year was pretty boring. The matches I liked were Glamarella (Santino and Beth), John Cena vs Batista, and Edge vs Undertaker. Can't say I had a favorite, but yeah.. Summerslam used to mean something back in the day and most of those matches weren't PPV material. And WTF happened with Mark Henry and Matt Hardy. That match sucked. errr

Response from YouTube

I received an email earlier today from YouTube with the following, "Thanks for contacting YouTube! You've reached the copyright and copyright compliance team. Your message has been received and is now awaiting review."

I figure this is an automated response (duh, I know lolz) and a real person will probably get it in a couple of days since this all happened over the weekend

Anyways, I'll try and detail all this for you later including what I said in my email and counter-DMCA notification. Not all the details, of course. I'll blank any specific details of this case including my own. haha

More soon and I'll try and get back to usual BTB business ASAP, but right now getting my account back is foremost on my mind

Cheers yo :)

Counter Claim In, Down with WWE!

Just an update..

I've just filed the counter-DMCA notification with YouTube on the claim made by World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc (WWE). I expect the WWE to let it go and after 10 days my account and videos will be returned to me so we can get back to normal again.

If they choose to take this to court which would be very silly and costly for them considering I'm all the way in New Zealand and they really don't have a foothold here. I guess we'll see where this goes because I'm prepared to take them on! And, I reckon I'll win anyways on the grounds of fair use (or fair dealing as it's called here in kiwiland). muahaha

More soon on this exciting development!

Regards, Cliff

Account Suspended, Action against WWE

Hi all,

Just moments ago I checked my account for any new channel/video comments when I was surprised to find that my YouTube Account had been suspended - I suspect for repeated copyright infringement. In response, I'll be issuing a counter-DMCA claim against World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc for the video deemed copyright-infringing (my ass it was and talk about old, it was flibbin ages ago, WM24 for godsake. errr. Vid in question below)

BTB: MITB at WM24, Kofi, and Kane (1 of 2):
http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ7KMVNQPgc

By issuing the counter-DMCA this will, I hope, restore my account because I'm not reuploading all those vids again and going down without a fight baby! We all worked bloody hard to get the lostinz account going dammit

Moving on, I'll be including a further counter-DMCA for my "BL Predictions (2 of 2)" video which was taken down some time ago by said company above

BTB: BL Predictions (2 of 2):
http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=44yE-ujz9U0

So here we go, a true "David vs Goliath" challenge for yours truly where we will prevail against the WWE and their bullying ways! Take that to the bank and eat it, you corporate internet-hound suckas

BTB Schedule, Episode Spoilers, and Upcoming Concept Shows

Hi all,

I'm not sure if you've noticed this but our frequency of episodes has been considerably reduced this season. This is due in part to our busier schedules especially between now and the end of November. I've been trying to pad what episodes we do have so we don't end up with another, what I call, one-month "hiatus of doom". Please accept my apologies, but be assured that I have measures in place to ensure we have a new episode every week. Whatever you do.. stay SUBSCRIBED! Be patient and keep watching because we'll answer your questions!

Here's a few spoilers for you, the fans, for our final set of episodes from our last shoot (which was on the 20th of July)..
** SPOILERS BEWARE ** (Highlight to see spoilers)

BTB 37: Best Heels in the WWE!
Below the Belt - Episode 37..

In this episode we discuss our thoughts on the wrestlers we think are the best heels in the WWE

BTB 38: Best Faces in the WWE!
Below the Belt - Episode 38.. Part I

In this shortest BTB episode ever we quickly try, within 3 mins, to discuss our thoughts on the wrestlers we think are the best faces (or babyfaces) in the WWE. We thought, at the time, the library was closing hence our rush to get this done. Stay tuned for the reshoot with a proper full-length UNCUT episode. More soon!

BTB 38: Best Faces in the WWE! (RESHOOT/UNCUT)
Below the Belt - Episode 38.. Part II

In this full-length RESHOOT and UNCUT episode we discuss our thoughts on the wrestlers we think are the best faces (or babyfaces) in the WWE

Enjoy!

Moving on..
I'm gonna give you a heads-up on a few concepts I have in mind for a few upcoming shows. These have not been filmed yet so I risk giving these ideas away. Rest assured our final result will be better bar none (although that could be a while away for any of them). Anyways, the concepts I have in mind include: The return of the QUESTION ROULETTE, BEAT THE CLOCK, and BTB AWARDS

THE QUESTION ROULETTE..
If you haven't heard of this before check out BTB Episode 27. Basically, we try to answer "randomly selected" subscriber submitted questions from the Question Roulette. A spinning dial graphic that really doesn't do anything but look and sound cool. haha

BEAT THE CLOCK..
Is based on the gimmick-type WWE match and also the show "Pardon the Interruption". That's all I'll give you right now but it should help us to stick within the 10 min time limit and film an episode in one take. lolz

BTB AWARDS..
Is based on all the awards shows you see on the "telly" (or TV). The Oscars are an example although in our case it's wrestling related and perhaps YouTube wrestling related. At this point I'm open to any ideas for award categories such as "Best Wrestler", "Best Diva", "Best YouTube Shooter", etc. Post a comment and let me know what awards you'd like to see. No nominations yet! We'll save that for later ;)

That's all for now and I hope that's a nice sneak peek into the future for your favorite YouTube Wrestling Commentary Show - Below the Belt

And, remember! You heard it here first. Woot
Post your thoughts and cheers :)

  • There was no chance in hell.. that I was paying for this PPV! 2 (20%)
Probably one of the Worst PPVs ever! 0 (0%)
Total Votes: 10

Clearly the resounding vote as decided by you, the fans, is that CM Punk should've beaten Batista in a clean all-out win to retain his World Heavyweight Championship. This is definitely something Punk needs in his title reign and a win over Batista would've helped him in this regard. Moving on, the next notable mention is Edge bringing the beat down on HHH's candy-ass thereby cementing his status as the top dog on Smackdown. Finally, many of you thought Natalya should've brought the pain on Taker's ball-and-chain to become the very first Diva's Champion

Thanks for voting everyone! More polls coming soon

New Job

Today I started a new short-term full-time job for a local small web development company. I'm taking over the duties of their current developer for 4 months because he's off getting married in August

The people are really cool and my first day was quite the doozy. I forgot a few really simple programming basics and also my workhours where I tried to leave half an hour early. doh! My boss pointed this out to me so I felt like a complete pratt however he told me I could leave early, I was a bit embarrased, but he insisted. He's cool

Well, that was my day.. really OT, but it was my very first day of PAID work in the industry I've studied in for over 3 years so I was really happy that this was something I actually enjoyed doing. It did occur to me that I'd made a mistake and wasted 3 years of my life, but I'm glad this was unfounded. Phew :p

Anywho..
I've considered whether this will affect the schedule again but I'm sure we'll find a way around this like filming in the evenings or weekends. It'll be fine :)

Regards, Cliff

Wishing You Well, Lenaire!

Last week my fellow co-host Lenaire went in for surgery, the details of which I won't go into, but I can tell you that she is at home recovering and will be back on her feet in no time

I just wanted to wish her well and I'm sure she'd appreciate a few kind words from you as well so please post a comment and let her know how much you care about your second favorite BTB host, the first being me of course. jk. lolz

Wishing you well, Lenaire!

Regards, Cliff

PS: In case you're wondering if this will affect future episodes of your favorite show, Below the Belt, I can assure you that we recorded a decent buffer of episodes just before she went into hospital which should cover her recovery period so you shouldn't notice any change to the weekly schedule. Woot (I say this alot don't I?! lolz)

Total Votes: 18

The biggest queston on everyone's mind after GM Vickie Guererro's hype for the inaugural and ugly-ass belt in the Diva's Championship title match is.. WTF!

I mean, what the hell happened to this match?! Did they finally realise that two diva's matches at NOC was a stupid idea. Frankly, they should've kept the inaugural Diva's title match and dumped Mickie James vs Katie Lea Burchill because no one cared about that feud. They were more interested in the Beth vs Melina feud. Anywho, what ended up happening is the Diva's title match got moved to the next PPV.. The (not so) Great American Bash without rhyme or reason. I, personally, would have preferred a little rhyme. lolz. Moving on, the other only notable mention is a resounding 7 votes for Cena opening up a can of whomp ass on HHH. Wow! I didn't realise you, the fans, either really love Cena or really hate HHH with a passion. So which are you? hmm

Thanks for voting everyone! Please vote in my latest poll for the Great American Bash PPV. Only a few days left to go

BTB Season 2

Hi everyone,

I've got some great spoiler news for you on BTB Season 2!

We filmed 4-5 episodes last night (with 3 promos) and they turned out pretty damned good. Well, all except the last where I obviously hadn't prepared any material because I was busy setting up the gear. doh. I look like a total goofball so we might have to redo that particular ep. Muahaha!! The joy of being "The Higher Power" of BTB :p

Anyway..
I think we're a little rusty and I'm not too happy about our location. The usual library we record in closed early yesterday so we were forced to use crappier settings - a bloody kitchen room for godsake. lolz. I don't think you'll notice so much except the part where I stab Michael in the eye with a Fork. jk. haha. I guess the location will have to do because we're not filming all those vids again for a prettier backdrop. Hell, you watch the show for pure entertainment value right? hmm. Well, I think we bring it in spades so you tune your internet dial into the lostinz channel, okay!

Finally and here's the clincher as seen from the "Pull my finger" Ad (brought to you by The Friends of BTB Trust. lolz) above..

BTB Season 2 starts Wednesday 16th July! (NZ)

So Mark your calendars Boys and Girls because we're back baby and (kinda) Better than ever! Woot!

The People Have Spoken! BTB S2 Music, ONS, BTB Lottery Draft Poll Results

Here are the results for the last several polls!
The People have Spoken! and, thought..

The New INTRO for BTB Season 2 should be..

  • Opt 1 - No music 0 (0%)
  • Opt 2 - Delirium by nocreeps 9 (52%)
  • Opt 3 - Just Rock v1 by The Helldorados 2 (11%)
  • Opt 4 - Just Rock v2 by The Helldorados 6 (35%)
  • Can't decide? Leave it to us! 0 (0%)
Total Votes: 17

The New OUTRO for BTB Season 2 should be..

  • Opt 1 - No music 1 (6%)
  • Opt 2 - Delirium by nocreeps 8 (50%)
  • Opt 3 - Just Rock v1 by The Helldorados 7 (43%)
  • Opt 4 - Just Rock v2 by The Helldorados 0 (0%)
  • Can't decide? Leave it to us! 0 (0%)
Total Votes: 16

So the resounding vote (17 and 16 in each poll) has the music for BTB Season 2 the same as that of Season 1. Although not the choice I wanted I guess things will remain the same at least as far as the music goes. I'll still be updating the intro and outros clips but I guess you'll see very soon!

Next up we had a poll some time ago for ONS. Here are your thoughts on that PPV!

2008 One Night Stand was:

  • Awesome! I'm happy with all the results 3 (18%)
  • Ok, but Umaga should've beaten Jeff 7 (43%)
  • Ok, but CM Punk should've won in the 5-man Singapore Cane match 1 (6%)
  • Ok, but Morrison should've won in the 5-man Singapore Cane match 7 (43%)
  • Ok, but Chavo should've won in the 5-man Singapore Cane match 5 (31%)
  • Ok, but Tommy should've won in the 5-man Singapore Cane match 2 (12%)
  • Ok, but JBL should've beaten Cena 9 (56%)
  • Ok, but Melina should've beaten Beth 4 (25%)
  • Ok, but HBK should've beaten Batista 3 (18%)
  • Ok, but Randy should've beaten HHH 6 (37%)
  • Ok, but The Undertaker should've beaten Edge 5 (31%)
  • What the.. you mean I missed One Night Stand? 0 (0%)
  • Hated it! Too predictable 0 (0%)
Total Votes: 16

Lots of support for JBL (with 9 votes) where you thought he should've beaten Cena for the 1, 2, 3. This is followed by a second equal vote for Morrison winning the Singapore Cane match and Umaga The Samoan "Bulldog" (my Michael Cole quote, lolz) bringing the beat down to Jeff Hardy. And finally, our last notable mention is you believed a second Age of Orton should have been ushered in with Randy winning the title back from HHH

Our final poll was on the BTB Episode Lottery Draft. A promotional idea I had which coincided with YT's update to their subscriber county systemy thing. That's the new IT definition for all things geeky. Anyway, here are your thoughts!

The BTB Episode Lottery Draft was..

  • A great idea, keep doing them! 8 (88%)
  • An okay idea, but I prefer the "Mystery Draft Lotto" idea 1 (11%)
  • A bad idea, don't do it again! 0 (0%)
  • A terrible idea! I unsubscribed 0 (0%)
Total Votes: 9

It looks like we'll be seeing more of these. Woot!

Thanks for voting everyone! Please vote in my latest poll for the Night of Champions PPV

OTC: Thoughts on that Auckland Show (Full Version)

Okay, if you missed it the first time here goes again! Highlights from the Smackdown and ECW event in Auckland on Wed 11th June, 2008. Woot!

PS: All pictures and video clips were taken and are owned by me

WWE have done it again! Internet Copyright Paranoia at it's Worst

The video above is supposed to highlight the awesome WWE Smackdown and ECW event at Auckland's Vector Arena on Wed 11th June, 2008 but now it doesn't do Jack. The WWE Internet Hounds have been out in force yet again removing any videos from the NZ Tour including this one only after a few hours on YT

You fu@kers! Thank you very much for ruining an almost perfect event

WWE Smackdown and ECW Tour in Auckland, Baby!!!

I just got home from the WWE Smackdown and ECW Tour at Vector Arena and I'll freely admit that this was the BEST wrestling event I've EVER.. eeeeee..eeevvvvaaaaa.. been to bar none. This is after attending (at least) seven events for Smackdown, ECW, and Raw right here in NZ and Australia. It absolutely freakin rocked!

Straight off the bat, the one and only, Shane O'Mac came out to announce Undertaker's "farewell tour" news and that he was allowed to compete in this very ring tonight. Woot! Shane's surpise appearance popped big time for the Below the Belt crew (and my nephew) who had no idea he was coming. To hear that music ("Here comes the Money") was flippin sweet too. Yeeeeaaaah

We'll be posting a review of this event probably for the very first episode of BTB Season Two in which we'll go into more detail of the event. In the meantime here's the card (as best as I can recall right now)..

Kelly Kelly
Who sounds like a chipmunk (on helium) talks about crap that no one cares about. Unfortunately, not the last we'll hear from her. Whoever came up with the idea to give her a mic is an idiot. She's in the WWE to look hot and that's it!

Shane McMahon
Special announcement of Undertaker's "Farewell Tour" and inclusion on the card for tonight's show

UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP:
Matt Hardy (c) vs Chuck Polumbo
Massive pops for Hardy. The crowd goes wild. Hardy took the win after a Twist of Fate

DIVAS:
Michelle McCool vs Victoria
Featuring a rather pointless interruption by Nattie Neidhart who was dressed alot like Golddust. WTF?! Michelle took the win but I can't remember how

BTW: Victoria was looking hooooooot tonight. I've got a rather flattering clip of her but you'll see.. maybe if you're nice ;)

MVP'S VIP LOUNGE:
Butch Miller & Tony Garea
I thought this Cutting Edge/Highlight Reel-type interview show was a bit long but then anything to do with the WWE, homegrown superstars and MVP ripping on New Zealand sports teams is gonna be sweet! His mic attacks to his opponents were funny as hell too. Simple bops to the head sent the old fellas flying. lolz

WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP:
The Miz (c) & Morrison (c) vs Finlay & Hornswoggle
Hilarious match with lots of gay chants to the champs. I liked how both teams lapped it up. Megalolz, and let's just say the champs retain but like it mattered. This match was one of the highlights of the night due to pure entertainment value

CM Punk vs Chavo Guerrero
This match seemed quite slow when compared to the others but spiked every now and again with a few nice spots. Not too helpful for taking pics though. Err. Punk took the win after a GTS

FYI: Punk had his Money in the Bank

BREAK
Way too short for my liking at prolly 10 or 15 mins. I was still in line (a nice short one) when the next match started with a boom. Yep, bugger! I missed the fireworks

FYI: I wasn't expecting fireworks at Vector because the venue's so small so I was very, very surprised to find we had them and LOTS of them too. Woot!

Kofi Kingston vs Shelton Benjamin
Shelton's the man! Kofi popped the crowd with his "boh boh boh" chants but I find the whole thing annoying. Kofi won the match. What a travesty!

Kane & The Undertaker vs Mark Henry & The Great Khali
Last minute change. MVP was supposed to team up with Henry but I like this idea more. Unfortunately, I can now say Khali sucks LIVE and on TV but at least his entrance is cool. Kane trying to break out of Khali's vice grip popped, I just thought Kane should've broken out of it instead of getting Taker's help. Undies rocks! The Brothers of Destruction won this one (of course) with a double chokeslam by both Kane and Taker

Vladimir Kozlov vs Shannon Moore
WTF?! Trying to slow the pace way, way down before the main event, eh WWE? Well, I'm onto ya! At least this match was short. Vladimir's entrance is very intimidating. I like it!!

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP:
Edge (c) vs Batista
Slow start. Big pops. Interference by La Familia (Chavo & Neely) who pummel Batista but he's saved by The Undertaker who comes out at the very last minute to give him a hand against the odds. Michael blows the absolutely best photo op ever, and then sadly.. it's all over!

Remember we'll try to add more detail when we film our next episode in a few weeks. So, thanks WWE! We had the best time ever. Woooooooooooooo!!!

Regards, Cliff

PS: Hmm. So yeah! This is the short description of the event or at least it's supposed to be. lolz :p

New Poll for One Night Stand. Get Voting Yo!

Hiya folks,

Just because we've got exams, assignments, that thing called life beyond YouTube (I know) and stuff like doesn't mean we're done for and stopping altogether. Oh, hella no!

Check out and vote in the latest poll for the 2008 One Night Stand PPV!
It's multiple choice again so get voting :)

Also, the votes for my other poll is still quite low and the results are inconclusive as to whether I should continue doing Lottery Drafts for BTB Season Two. If you don't know what I the hell I'm talking about (lolz) follow this three step process

STEP ONE:
Click on the following link..
http://lostinz.blogspot.com/2008/05/btb-30_29.html

FYI: You'll notice that the video will work for you. That's because it's been set to public now and the advanced preview period has ended. During that one day it didn't if you weren't drawn from the BTB Episode Lottery Draft and instead you'd get an error message saying that the video has been set to private. Within hours of posting this idea I lost almost 10 subscribers however at the same time YT made an update to their subscriber counting system

STEP TWO:
Now click on this link..
http://lostinz.blogspot.com/2008/05/new-poll-btb-episode-lottery-draft-good.html

STEP THREE:
Finally, vote in the poll entitled, "The BTB Episode Lottery Draft is..". It's right below the one on One Night Stand with four options. For a better description of what each option means refer back to the link in step two

You're done! The more votes the better in both polls
Cheers :)
